MEMPHIS, Tennessee -- Dee Haynes knocked in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Memphis Redbirds (56-74) over the New Orleans Zephyrs (67-64), 4-3 on Tuesday Night in Memphis.

After a pair of singles put the winning run on third base, Haynes connected on his second single of the contest to plate John Gall and snap a 3-3 tie. Marty Malloy produced an RBI base hit in the seventh inning, Jason Bowers followed with a run-scoring fielder's choice, and Steve Torreabla drew a bases-loaded walk in the eighth to force in the tying run. Mike Crudale (5-5) pitched a perfect ninth inning to pick up the win for Memphis, which scored four unanswered runs to halt a five-game losing streak.

Henri Stanley struck a solo homer in both the fourth and sixth innings and Alan Zinter added his team-leading 16th long ball for New Orleans, which has lost seven of its last 10 games. Nate Bland (0-1) surrendered a run and three hits in 1 1/3 innings to suffer the loss for the Zephyrs, who could not preserve the victory after starter Bob Scanlan pitched five scoreless innings.

The Zephyrs are now tied with Oklahoma for second place in the PCL East Division, 4 ½ games behind Nashville. Nashville lost 16 to 2 to Oklahoma on Tuesday Night. The series with the Redbirds continues on Wednesday at 7:05 PM. The game can be heard on WTIX-AM 690 and www.zephyrsbaseball.com with Tim Grubbs calling the action.
