Sox Win Streak Stands at Six

Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release


The Colorado Springs Sky Sox started off their 10 game roadtrip with a victory over the Omaha Royals 5-4 on Tuesday night. Sox starter Scott Elarton went 6 1/3 innings striking out 9 en route to his 6 victory on the year and 5th straight win. David Newhan and his 3 hits as well as home runs by Clint Barmes, Luke Allen and Pascual Matos powered the Sox offense. Brad Clontz came on in the 9th to secure the win and his 28th save of the season. The Sox remain tied for first place as the Albuquerque Isotopes beat the Iowa Cubs on Tuesday night. The five game series with Omaha continues on Wednesday with the game 2 starter for the Sox being Matt Perisho (0-0, 3.60) going up against Jamey Wright (5-6, 4.02) of Omaha.
