Rippers Win Streak Stops at 7

LONDON, ONTARIO - In a wild one, the London Rippers (10-11) had their seven game winning streak snapped, losing 13-12 in 13 innings to Joliet.

Tony Delmonico (0-1), who started the game at second base, pitched the final three innings of the game and gave up one earned run on four hits.

The game went back and forth all day, with London down 3-0, they put up a five-run 3rd, capped by David Christensen's 3-RBI double and an RBI single by Joash Brodin and Mark Samuelson.

Joliet tied the game at 5-5 with a two-run homer by David Fox.

The Slammers took an 8-6 lead into the 8th inning but Joash Brodin and Mark Samuelson each had 2-run doubles, putting London back ahead 10-8.

In the 9th, David Francis couldn't shut the door, giving up a 2-RBI double to Jimmy Waters, tying the game at 10-10. Both runs were unearned.

A throwing error and wild pitch helped Joliet regain the lead at 12-10 in the 12th, but Joash Brodin drove in his 4th and 5th runs of the game with a single in the bottom of the inning.

Brad Netzel drove in the eventual winning run on a single in the 13th .

The Rippers hit the road tonight, starting a 3-game series in Florence tomorrow night before heading to Evansville for another 3 game set.

London returns home on Sunday, June 17th against the Washington Wild Things. The game will start at 6:30pm and all fathers who bring their children will get in for free.
