Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings News Release
The Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings of the North American Baseball League announce the unconditional release of outfielder Luis Sumoza, effective immediately.
Sumoza hit .255 in 43 games with no home runs and 23 runs batted in for the WhiteWings, but he hit just .186 in July and was leading the team in strikeouts with 40.
Sumoza had started every game the WhiteWings have played since signing with the team on July 15.
