Rio Grande Valley (19-6), which currently has the best record in the NBA G League, made 21 three-pointers as a team, finished at 56 percent shooting from the floor and 50 percent from three as it led nearly from start-to-finish.

Guard Brandon Sampson and forward Chris Silva each scored 20 points to pace Iowa (10-12), which has dropped five of its past six games. Two-way guard McKinley Wright IV had 16 points and seven assists while newly reacquired forward Malik Benlevi scored a season-high 15 points.

Silva scored the game's first points with a pullup jumper 1:21 into the game. However, Trhae Mitchell quickly buried the Vipers' first three-pointer and they never trailed again leading by as many as 27 points in the victory.

Anthony Lamb led Rio Grande Valley with a game-high 28 points. Seven Wolves and seven Vipers tallied double figures in the first meeting this season between the teams. The first two games in the series were cancelled due to the postponement of the start of the NBA G League regular season.

Iowa continues its road trip in Texas with a Sunday afternoon game at Austin. Tipoff against the Spurs is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the game will be carried on NBA TV.
