Herd Stopped by Charge

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Cleveland Charge 129-119. The Herd was on top the entire first half. The Charge took a nine-point lead in the third quarter and held on to lead the rest of the game. The Herd came within six points in the fourth quarter, but the Charge held on to win.

Frank Mason III led the Herd with 34 points while Tiwian Kendley and Terry Larrier added 19 points each. Javin DeLaurier posted a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Malik Newman led the Charge with 34 points followed by Cameron Young with 28 points.

The Herd started the game strong outscoring the Charge 11-2 in the first three minutes. Terry Larrier hit back-to-back shots to put the Herd up by nine with five and a half minutes left in the first quarter. Frank Mason III completed a three to put the Herd up 35-23. The Herd was on top 40-27 at the end of the first quarter.

The Charge came within four points, but the Herd turned around to build their lead to 10 with eight and a half minutes left in the second quarter. The Charge tied the game 61-61 but Jalen Lecque hit a jump shot to put the Herd ahead. The Herd held on to lead at half 70-67. Tiwian Kendley led the Herd with 15 points in the first half.

The Charge hit a three to tie the game 70-70 at the beginning of the third quarter. The Charge then took the lead, but Jalen Lecque answered to tie the game again. The two teams went back and forth until the Charge built a lead of nine points with five minutes left. The Charge held on to lead 101-89 at the end of the third quarter.

Javin DeLaurier converted a three-point play to put the Herd within six points with seven minutes remaining in the game. The Charge led 119-109 with three and a half minutes left. The Herd came within seven points, but the Charge held on to win 129-119.

The Herd will return home on Sunday, March 13 against the Maine Celtics with tip-off set for 2:30 p.m. CST.
