Knicks' Offense Pales to Go-Go's Performance

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, fell to the Capital City Go-Go, 108-92, Thursday night at Total Mortgage Arena.

For the Knicks (12-11), Louis King (returning rights), who led all scorers, had 25 points, tying his career-high with 5 triples (5-9), six rebounds, and two steals. Dewan Hernandez (returning rights) went for 16 points and four rebounds. MJ Walker (Affiliate) chipped in with 14 points off the bench. In his second outing with the team, Tra Holder (available player pool) scored 12 points and dished a team-high six assists.

Capital City (15-7) was led by 18 points from Greg Monroe. Kyree Walker had 17 points, while Jordan Schakel finished with 14 points.

The opening period featured six lead changes and four ties as both teams went back-and-forth to start the contest. The Go-Go led 27-26 after one.

In the second, the visitors maintained their advantage throughout the quarter, opening up their largest lead in the half, 50-34, with 5:09 left on the clock. King kept the Knicks within striking distance with 18 first half points on a perfect 4-4 mark from deep. The score was 60-51 in favor of Capital City heading to the locker room.

Westchester battled back in the third to cut the deficit to single digits multiple times in the period. The Knicks got as close as five, 80-75, with a minute remaining in the quarter, but the guests pushed the score to 82-75 after three.

The visitors quickly brought their advantage back to double figures in the final frame, and never looked back in the 16-point decision.

The Knicks will be back in action on Monday, March 14 when they host the College Park Skyhawks at 7 PM ET.
