Stockton, CA - The Stockton Kings (11-12), of the NBA G League, defeated the Santa Cruz Warriors (10-14), 109-99 at Stockton Arena on Thursday night.

The game started with a back-and-forth contest with the Kings leading by two points after one quarter of play. Stockton was propelled by a 20-6 run which gave them a comfortable lead in the second quarter (42-21). The biggest lead belonged to the Kings, 60-36, towards the end of the half. Kings guard DJ Steward led the first half in scoring with fourteen points and added five rebounds, two assists and three steals. Kings guard Quinn Cook provided a spark off the bench in the first half and had thirteen points, four rebounds and three assists. Santa Cruz was led by center James Wiseman in the first half with ten points and three rebounds. Stockton entered the break leading 62-43 while shooting .457 percent from the field, .333 percent from three and a perfect nine for nine from the free throw line.

Stockton kept their foot on the gas in the third quarter, leading by as many as thirty points and never gave up the lead in the second half. Santa Cruz finished shooting .405 percent from the field, .161 percent from three and shot .750 percent from the free throw line. Warriors starting guard Quinndary Weatherspoon led the game in scoring with thirty points, added eight rebounds, five assists and three steals. Warriors guard Chris Chiozza finished with a double-double with eleven points and ten rebounds.

Cook led the Kings and the game with 28 points, added five rebounds and six assists. Steward finished with 20 points, five rebounds, three assists and five steals. As a team, the Kings shot .416 percent from the field, .371 percent from three and .867 percent from the free throw line.
