RHP Rafael Soriano Assigned to Iowa on Major League Rehab

DES MOINES, Iowa (Aug. 26, 2015) - The Chicago Cubs today assigned right-handed pitcher Rafael Soriano to Iowa on a major league rehab assignment.
Soriano, 35, went 2-0 with a 6.35 ERA (4ER/5.2IP) in six relief appearances for the Chicago Cubs before being placed on the 15-day disabled list Aug. 4 with right shoulder inflammation.
He had no record and tossed 2.0 scoreless innings across two outings with Iowa on July 16 and 18 against Memphis before Chicago selected his contract on July 19.
After these moves, Iowa's active roster is at 25 players plus one player on the disabled list and one player on major league rehab. Iowa has now made 188 players moves this season, a franchise record. The previous record was 172 set in 2013.
