RENO - The Nashville Sounds scored a total of six runs in the fifth and sixth innings on their way to a 7-4 win over the Reno Aces (@Aces) Tuesday night at Aces Ballpark.

Jamie Romak's sacrifice fly evened the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first, and Blake Lalli (@BlakeLalli) scoring on a wild pitch to put the Aces (62-68) in front, 2-1, in the second.

Aces starter A.J. Schugel (@Schug_Knight) breezed through the third and fourth frames, racking up three strikeouts in the process.

It turned for the worse when Craig Gentry led off the fifth with a single to right field. Catcher Carson Blair followed with a two-run homer to quickly put the Sounds (60-71) back in front with a 3-2 lead. They didn't look back as a four-run sixth inning put the game out of reach.

Schugel started the sixth by issuing a leadoff walk to Jason Pridie. Rangel Ravelo launched a double high off the center field wall to plate Pridie and chase Schugel from the game just two batters into the inning.

R.J. Hively was summoned from the bullpen and the struggles continued. Brent Morel greeted Hively with a run-scoring single up the middle to give Nashville a 5-2 lead. Consecutive walks to the eight and nine hitters came back to bite Hively when leadoff hitter Tyler Ladendorft lined a two-run triple down the right field line to give Nashville a 7-2 lead.

Todd Glaesmann's (@toddglaesmann22) one-out double led to a run in the bottom half of the sixth and trimmed the deficit to 7-3.

Reno relievers Kevin Vance (@SorryBoutIt10) and Enrique Burgos kept the Sounds off the scoreboard in the final three innings. Vance worked through two scoreless frames and Burgos wiggled out of a bases loaded jam in the ninth.

Danny Worth hit a one-out, opposite field homer into the Aces bullpen to pull Reno within 7-4 in the bottom of the ninth. An error by Morel kept the game alive with two outs, but Nick Evans lined out to left to end it.

Cody Martin allowed three runs (two earned) over six innings for Nashville to earn his third win of the season. Schugel was tagged with the loss and dropped to 2-7.

The four-game series finale is set for Wednesday night at Aces Ballpark. Right-hander Blayne Weller (0-1, 4.15) starts for Reno against left-hander Sean Nolin (2-1, 2.56) for Nashville. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
