DES MOINES, Iowa (Aug. 26, 2015) - The Chicago Cubs today recalled outfielder Matt Szczur from Triple-A Iowa.

Szczur joins Chicago for the seventh time this season. He is batting .217 (13-for-60) with four doubles, one homer and eight RBI in 35 games for the big league Cubs.

Szczur batted .292 (78-for-267) with 12 doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 31 RBI in 70 games with Iowa this season.

The 26-year-old Szczur made his major league debut last August and batted .226 (14-for-62) with two doubles, two home runs and five RBI in 33 games. Overall, Szczur has batted .221 (27-for-122) with six doubles, three home runs and 13 RBI in 68 career major league games.
