The Revs lost a heartbreaker on Go Green Night presented by York County Solid Waste Authority on Saturday, falling to the Skeeters 8-7 in a thrilling 13 inning marathon.

Matt Neil started the game for the Revs, going five innings and only allowing two earned runs on a Patrick Palmeiro fifth inning home run. His counterpart, Sean Gallagher also put together a solid line for the Skeeters, throwing five innings as well and allowing three earned runs in the process.

Wilson Valdez opened up the scoring for the Revs, blooping a single over second base, scoring last night's walk-off hero, Nick Ferdinand. York then loaded the bases against Gallagher, and Andres Perez patiently worked out a walk to bring home a run. Gallagher then uncorked a wild pitch to Brandon Boggs, allowing Shannon Wilkerson to scamper home, giving the Revs a 3-2 lead.

That score would hold until the 7th, when Dustin Martin rudely greeted Leyson Septimo with a grand slam, clearing the bases to give the Skeeters a 6-3 advantage.

The Revs would quickly fight back in the bottom of the inning, as Wilkerson, Perez and Steve Proscia all tallied RBI in the frame, with a Proscia two-run single giving the Revs a 7-6 lead going into the eighth.

The lead would not hold though, as a Valdez fielding error allowed Denny Almonte to come home with the tying run, unearned against reliever Stephen Penney.

After a four inning stalemate lasting into extra innings, Willy Taveras skyed a ball off of Revs reliever Joe Harris (1-2), clearing the Arch Nemesis in left and giving the Skeeters the lead in the top of the 13th, which would prove to be the deciding run.

The Revs were able to get the winning runs on base in the bottom of the inning, but Proscia flied out to center, nixing any hope for a comeback.

The Revs start a four game set against Lancaster on Sunday on Cancer Survivor Night, presented by Visiting Angels. Lefty Rommie Lewis (3-3, 2.65) looks to get the Revs back on track against Lancaster southpaw Dan Osterbrock (3-1, 2.81) with first pitch at 5 p.m. Tickets are on sale at YorkRevolution.com, (717) 801-HITS, and in-person at the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office.
