
Long Island Completes Series Sweep in Camden

(Camden, N.J., June 6, 2015) - The Long Island Ducks defeated the Camden Riversharks 7-1 on Saturday night in the finale of a four-game series at Campbell's Field.
The Ducks struck first in the third inning when Reegie Corona scored on a wild pitch by Riversharks starter Eric Smith. Jose Morales doubled the lead to two in the fourth with a two-out RBI single to left field.
Camden got on the scoreboard in the fourth on Joel Guzman's RBI double to right off of Ducks starter Ian Marshall. However, Long Island answered with two runs in the fifth courtesy of Delta Cleary, Jr.'s RBI triple to right and Lew Ford's run-scoring groundout to second.
Two more runs in the sixth on a pair of errors by the Riversharks ballooned the lead to 6-1. Long Island closed out their scoring in the seventh on Jon Griffin's RBI double to right-center.
Marshall (3-1) earned the win, tossing eight innings, giving up just one run on five hits and one walk while striking out five. Smith (0-3) suffered the loss, surrendering two runs on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts in four innings. Ryan Kussmaul worked a scoreless ninth inning to close out the sweep.
Cody Puckett led the Flock with three hits and two runs, while Griffin, Morales and Reegie Corona each added two hits.
The Ducks return home on Sunday to begin a four-game series against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Game time is slated for 1:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 12:35 (12:20 for season ticket holders). Fans in attendance at the game will be treated to a special one-day only appearance from Spider-Man, courtesy of Atlantic Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM. The famous superhero will be greeting fans and posing for pictures on the main concourse outside the Waddle In Shop.
It's also a Sunday Family Funday at the ballpark! Prior to the game, fans will be invited onto the field for an autograph session with the Ducks from 12:50 to 1:05. Following the game, kids and kids at heart can take part in Kids Run the Bases, presented by Bethpage Federal Credit Union. The team will also be celebrating the 50th birthday of WWE Hall-of-Famer and big Ducks fan Mick Foley during the game! He will be at the ballpark to celebrate with fans and everyone will get the chance to sing "Happy Birthday" to Mick as he stands on top of the dugout.
