York Revolution News Release

The York Revolution made history and made a move in the standings all in one night with an 11-5 win in Bridgeport on Thursday evening. The win is the 500th regular season victory in franchise history, as the Revs move a game ahead of Lancaster into sole possession of first place with 16 games remaining in the season's first half. The Revs have won seven of their last nine overall and will seek a third straight victory with the conclusion of their four-game series in Bridgeport on Friday night.

The game was scoreless into the fourth inning when the Revs struck for three quick runs with two outs. Johan Limonta broke the ice with an RBI double to left-center for the game's first run, and Ofilio Castro followed with a two-run homer to left, his second of the year, giving York a 3-0 lift.

Bridgeport got on the board on a bases loaded hit by pitch to Ramon Castro in the bottom of the fifth, but that was the only run allowed in seven innings by York starter Chris Cody.

The Revs recovered that run in the sixth on a single to center by Travis Garcia, and then exploded for five runs in the seventh, blowing the game open with a 9-1 lead. Brandon Chaves ripped a two-run single to center and Chad Tracy launched a three-run homer to left-center in the big inning. It was Tracy's fourth home run of the year, all in the last eight games.

Eric Patterson smacked a two-run single to right in the eighth inning, expanding the lead to 11-1 as the Revs reached double figures in scoring for the third time this season.

Bridgeport made noise in the bottom of the eighth as Prentice Redman homered to left for his second long ball of the series, before taking advantage of four walks to score a total of four times in the inning, but the game result had long been settled.

Cody (5-3) earned the win, allowing just one run on five hits, tying a season-high by working seven innings for the third time. The lefty retired 11 straight at one point from the first through the fourth, and left the bases loaded in both the first and fifth innings. Earning the 500th win in club history, the second winningest pitcher in franchise history logged his 39th victory all-time in a York uniform.

Bridgeport starter Matt Iannazzo (1-2) was handed the loss, charged with four runs on nine hits in six innings of work.
