York Revolution News Release

The York Revolution were denied a second straight victory, losing to the Sugar Land Skeeters, 7-3 on Friday night at Sovereign Bank Stadium. With the four-game series now even at one win apiece, the two teams will meet again on Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. in York.

York grabbed an early lead on a solo home run to left-center by Andres Perez in the bottom of the first inning, as his tenth of the season gave the Revs a 1-0 advantage.

Sugar Land took the lead for good with four runs in the top of the third, scoring on an RBI single up the middle by Josh Pressley, and a three-run homer to left-center by Ryan Langerhans, giving the Skeeters a 4-1 lead.

The Revs got one back in the bottom of the fourth, as Andy Marte lined a solo homer to left, his 18th of the year, making it a 4-2 game.

That was the only damage done against Skeeters starter David Pauley (1-0) who earned the win, giving up just two runs on four hits and no walks in seven innings of work.

Sugar Land padded its lead with a solo homer to left-center by Koby Clemens leading off the sixth, and on a two-run shot to left by Kevin Rios in the top of the eighth.

The Revs scored their final run in the bottom of the eighth when Mark Teahen doubled to left and scored on a double play grounder.

York starter Pedro Liriano (4-3) was tagged with the loss, allowing four runs in 4.2 innings.

The Revs will send Corey Thurman (4-9, 6.58) to the mound for Saturday's contest, facing Scott Elarton (6-6, 4.87) in game three of the four-game series. The night will conclude with Inside-the-Park Fireworks presented by Those Garage Guys. It is also RAYAC Homeownership Night. Tickets are available at YorkRevolution.com, (717) 801-HITS, and in-person at the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office.
