WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - Despite late-inning thunder, the Hudson Valley Renegades fell to the Aberdeen IronBirds 7-3 in 11 innings on Saturday night at Dutchess Stadium.

Aberdeen broke ahead in the top of the fourth against Edgar Barclay. Donta' Williams grounded out to short with the bases loaded to make it 1-0 IronBirds.

Hudson Valley starter T.J. Sikkema logged a second consecutive scoreless start. The left-hander fired 1.2 innings, allowing no runs on two hits, striking out three and walking one in his second appearance of the year.

Aberdeen starter Carlos Tavera spun five shutout innings, striking out six and permitting only one hit and one walk.

The IronBirds added insurance in the top of the eighth on Coby Mayo's blasted a solo shot to left-center off Carson Coleman to extend the lead to 2-0.

With the Renegades down to their final out in the bottom of the ninth, Tyler Hardman crushed a dramatic opposite-field, two-run homer off Clayton McGinness to tie the game at two.

Aberdeen took the lead in the top of the 10th against Bryan Blanton (0-1). Collin Burns knocked an RBI single up the middle to make it 3-2 IronBirds. Tanner Myatt was charged with an unearned run, with the automatic runner Donta' Williams coming home. Hudson Valley struck back to tie it in the bottom of the 10th on a Pat DeMarco sacrifice fly.

In the top of the 11th against Blanton, Billy Cook launched a go-ahead grand slam to give the IronBirds a 7-3 lead.

Xavier Moore closed it out in the bottom of the 11th, walking two and striking out two to earn his third save.

Hudson Valley wraps up its six-game series with Aberdeen tomorrow afternoon at Dutchess Stadium. RHP Blas Castaño (0-3, 4.50) takes the ball for the Renegades, while RHP Jean Pinto (1-1, 5.09) makes his second start of the series for the IronBirds. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m.
