WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. - The Hudson Valley Renegades out-muscled the Aberdeen IronBirds 12-5 on Wednesday night at Heritage Financial Park. The Renegades offense scored a run in all eight innings they came to bat.

Spencer Jones led off the bottom of the first with a double before Caleb Durbin singled to drive in the game's first run.

Adam Retzbach doubled home Reed Trimble in the second to even the score line at one. The back and forth continued as Aaron Palensky led off the next half-inning with his first home run of the season, a solo blast to left field.

After a Ben Rice RBI double in the third inning extended the Renegades lead to 3-1, Aberdeen took their first lead of the contest in the fourth. 'Gades starter Joel Valdez loaded the bases before Retzbach collected his second RBI of the contest with a single to cut the deficit in half to 3-2. Valdez walked in two more runs in the inning to hand Aberdeen a 4-3 lead. Enrique Santana (1-0) entered the game for Valdez and struck out Max Wagner to leave the bases loaded.

Hudson Valley immediately tied the game as Ben Cowles started the fourth with a home run to deep center field, his first of the season. After Aberdeen regained the lead in the fifth, the Renegades didn't look back. Spencer Henson tied the game with a sacrifice fly, before Aaron Palensky singled home the go-ahead run.

Three IronBirds errors in the seventh inning opened up the contest as the Renegades struck for four runs off Cooper Chandler (0-1) to open up an 11-5 advantage. Cowles highlighted the inning with an RBI single as part of a 2-for-5 night.

Palensky drove in the game's last run with an RBI triple in the eighth. He finished the contest 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and fell a double shy of the cycle. Harold Cortijo, Bailey Dees, and Danny Watson combined to throw four scoreless innings out of the bullpen and strike out six in the victory. All nine starters recorded a hit, while five Renegades hitters also tallied multi-hit games.

Hudson Valley and Aberdeen continue their six-game series Thursday night at Heritage Financial Park as Tyrone Yulie faces off against Jean Pinto. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. Coverage begins on the Renegades Baseball Network at 5:45.
