BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Brooklyn Cyclones defeated the Hudson Valley Renegades 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at Maimonides Park in walk off fashion on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth.

After Joander Suarez (3-5) hurled a scoreless top of the ninth, Omar De Los Santos laid down a bunt single against Bailey Dees (1-1) to begin the bottom half of the frame. On the ensuing pitches, De Los Santos stole second and third base. Abraham Almonte then walked before Dees retired the next two batters. A 1-2 breaking ball to Drake Osborn bounced away from Rafael Flores, and De Los Santos scored the winning run to defeat Hudson Valley 2-1.

Drew Thorpe and New York Mets rehabber Jose Quintana battled early on the hill. Both starters went toe to toe recording three scoreless frames until Ben Cowles plated the game's first run with a solo home run on the first pitch of the fourth inning off Quintana.

Thorpe retired the first 12 batters of the game until a leadoff walk to D'Andre Smith in the fifth inning. Jaylen Palmer then ripped a double off the wall in left-center to place two runners in scoring position with nobody out. Drake Osborn hit a sacrifice fly to left to score Smith from third base and tie the game at one. Thorpe retired the next two batters to end the threat.

The run scored in the fifth off Thorpe ended a 28.1 scoreless inning streak. It was the first run allowed by the New York Yankees' No. 6 prospect in the month of June, and the first since May 26th against the Wilmington Blue Rocks. The right-handed pitcher finished his afternoon allowing just one run in 7.2 innings while walking two and punching out seven. In four starts in June, Thorpe threw 28.2 innings, allowing just one run on 12 hits, walking six and striking out 34. After back-to-back off days on Monday and Tuesday, the Renegades will return home to Heritage Financial Park to begin a six-game series against the Wilmington Blue Rocks. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with coverage on the Renegades Baseball Network beginning at 6:45 p.m.

Renegades Record: 39-30, 0-3
