ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (13-2-1-3), Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, battled the Colorado Eagles (11-3-3-0) into overtime before winning the game 4-3 for a home crowd of 6,802 fans on Saturday night.

At the 7:58 mark of the second period, Colorado's Ray Sawada beat a Reign defenseman at the blue line and went in for a one-on-one. He ripped a shot from the inside hashes of the left circle and beat Michael Hutchinson's glove to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

Less than four minutes later, Matt White and Mario Lamoureux battled for the puck in the Colorado corner before it came loose for Kyle Kraemer to pick up. Kraemer wrapped it around the Eagles cage and pushed it past Marc Cheverie's right skate at 11:40.

The Reign then jumped ahead at 15:09 when Matt White earned his sixth goal of the season with a one-timer from the left face-off dot. Lamoureux sent him a perfect feed from behind the Colorado net to put Ontario up 2-1.

The Reign seemed poised to head into the third with the lead, but with just 23 seconds left on the clock, the Eagles' David Johnston sent a cross-ice pass to Isaac Smeltzer who fired a laser past Hutchinson to tie the game.

Colorado pulled ahead 3-2 momentarily in the third period when Jonathan Parker put a deke on Hutchinson and caught him off balance at 7:13. Moments later at 7:48 Derek Couture banged in a shot from Danny Dries at the left circle for the equalizer. Jason Dale earned the secondary assist in his Reign debut. Regulation ended with the score knotted at three goals apiece forcing the fourth overtime frame at home seen by Ontario this season.

The game would come to an end when a shot from the left point by Jake Newton presented a challenge for Cheverie; after the puck glanced off the goalie's chest, Kraemer exhibited excellent patience recovering the rebound, before carrying the puck to the top of the slot, then using his body as a screen before turning around and firing the puck through Cheverie's five-hole to win 4-3 in overtime.

Hutchinson earned the win with 17 saves on 20 shots; Cheverie took the overtime loss with 30 stops on 34 shots.
