Ontario Reign News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (12-2-1-3), back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, maintained control and scored three unanswered goals in a 4-1 win over the Stockton Thunder (11-5-0-2) on Friday night at Stockton Arena.

Danny Dries scored his third goal of the season just 4:28 into the game. Derek Couture took a shot on net and Ben Foster allowed the rebound to go right to a wide open Danny Dries who banged it in after coming quick into the zone. Garet Hunt tied the game at 10:47 with a quick wrist shot from the slot. Hunt received a tape-to-tape pass from Andrew Clark for the equalizer.

The Reign dominated in the second period beginning with Jake Newton helping to get the play moving by setting up a Dries into the Thunder end. Dries got a shot off as he dove toward the ice beating Foster's glove side putting the Reign up 2-1. The Dries and Newton pairing struck again when Dries and Matt White worked the puck through the neutral zone and sent a back door pass to Newton at the right circle who sent the puck flying past Ben Foster at 13:54. Ontario took a 4-1 lead when Kyle Kraemer skated it in through the right circle and fired a wrist shot through traffic past Foster. J.T. Barnett and Mario Lamoureux earned the assists.

Ontario kept Stockton quiet through the third period and stopped their league-leading power-play with their only man-advantage of the game.

Michael Hutchinson earned the win stopping 16 of 17 shots in his ninth straight game; Foster had his first regulation loss with 30 saves on a total of 34 Reign shots.

Three Stars: 1. ONT - Danny Dries 2. ONT - J.T. Barnett 3. ONT - Jake Newton
