Reign Receive Roach from Monarchs

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, announced that defenseman Alex Roach has been loaned to the Reign from their AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs.

Roach, 20, first joined the Kings organization when he signed a three-year entry level contract in 2011 before returning to the WHL's Calgary Hitmen. The Quensel, British Columbia native played with the Hitmen last season and led Hitmen defensemen with 49 points (15g, 34a) in 62 appearances. Roach ranked first on the team with a +42 and fourth with his 49 points.

From 2010-13 the 6-foot-4, 227-pound blue liner accumulated 83 points (23g, 60a) in a total of 184 games. The rookie will make his professional debut with the Reign this season. Reign Drops: The Reign will unveil their third Pacific Division Championship banner on Saturday, Oct. 19 to officially begin the 2013-14 season; the puck drops at 6 p.m. All fans in attendance will receive a 2013-14 season magnet schedule, compliments of Ignite Advertising. Also, the first 3,000 fans will receive a mini-cupcake, compliments of Suite 106 Cupcakery, to celebrate the Citizens Business Bank Arena's five year anniversary.
