Time: Doors open at 6 p.m. (5:45 p.m. for season ticket holders); puck drops at 7 p.m.
Promotion: Queen Victoria, the live Condor, returns PLUS the first 2,000 kids, 12 & under, get Angry Birds Plush Hats presented by 29 Eyewitness News, 101.5 KGFM, & Diamond Technologies. Photo opportunities with the live birds will be available.

TONIGHT
The Bakersfield Condors open the regular season tonight against the Colorado Eagles. It is the second time in three seasons the two clubs meet in Bakersfield's home opener. Two years ago, Colorado's first-ever ECHL contest was in Bakersfield, a 3-1 Condors victory. Tonight marks the first game coached by head coach Troy Mann in Condors history and begins the Condors affiliation with the Edmonton Oilers.
CAPTAINCY
Earlier today, the Condors announced that C Joel Broda will serve as the team's captain for the 2013-14 season. D Erik Burgdoerfer will wear an "A" full-time, while LW Chris Collins and D Wes Cunningham will split the "A" duties on home and road. Broda is currently in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Oklahoma City Barons. He had an assist in his first game with OKC on Wednesday. Burgdoerfer has served as an alternate or captain for parts of each of the past two seasons while Collins and Cunningham are newcomers to Bakersfield. Both Collins and Cunningham are two of the three veterans on the team along with F Brett Lutes.
CONDORS NOTES
Broda becomes the 13th captain in Condors history... Head Coach Troy Mann becomes the first former Condor to coach the team tonight... All-time the Condors are 10-5-0-0 in season openers... With victories in Ontario and San Francisco the past two seasons, tonight is the first time in three seasons that the team will open at home... Bakersfield has opened at home in 13 of their 16 seasons, including tonight... Assigned to the Condors from Edmonton are G Tyler Bunz, D Joey Leach, and F Cameron Abney. C Nicholas Tremblay is under contract to Edmonton's AHL affiliate, the Oklahoma City Barons.
