
Reign Overpower Thunder with 4-2 Comeback Win

STOCKTON, Calif . - The Ontario Reign (2-0-0-0), back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, came back from a two-goal deficit to beat the Stockton Thunder (1-1-0-0) 4-2 at Stockton Arena on Wednesday night before 2,627 fans.
Stockton's Kirill Kabanov opened the scoring for the night netting the first goal with just 2:08 left in the first period. He fired the puck past Mathias Niederberger's glove in the Reign goaltender's first professional appearance.
The Thunder added another goal just 3:12 into the second period from Ryan Hayes to take a 2-0 lead. A mere 96 seconds later, Mario Lamoureux recorded his second goal in as many games off a twice deflected shot from Matt Register at the blue line; Brady Calla picked up the secondary assist on the tally. Ontario's Dan DaSilva was in prime position to even the score with a redirect on defenseman Zach Bell's shot from the point.
Ontario jumped ahead with their third unanswered goal from Winnipeg Jets prospect Yasin Cisse for his first professional goal. Los Angeles Kings prospect Alex Roach set up the play with Bell who earned his second point of the game on the assist. With just 22 seconds left in regulation, DaSilva sent a long shot into the Thunder's empty net for the insurance goal giving Ontario a 4-2 comeback win. Roach earned his second point with the lone assist.
Niederberger earned his first professional win stopping 26 of 28 shots; Parker Milner took the loss with 23 saves on 26 shots.
