Wranglers Claw 4-3 OT Win from Grizzlies

Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers beat the Utah Grizzlies 4-3 in overtime tonight, securing the team's first 2013-14 road win after a comeback attempt by the Grizzlies.

Wranglers center Chris Francis opened scoring with a goal 3:35 into the contest. Minutes later, Wranglers defenseman Nolan Julseth-White and forward Brian Nugent posted back-to-back goals 55 seconds apart to make it a 3-0 game for Las Vegas. Utah got on the board as forward Brent Gwidt tallied a power play goal with five seconds left in the period.

The 3-1 game was brief as Grizzlies forward Jamie MacQueen recorded his sixth goal of the season 23 seconds into the second period. Utah managed to complete their comeback 10 minutes later as Gwidt notched his second goal of the night on a Utah penalty kill, evening the score 3-3.

Despite Utah outshooting Las Vegas 16-8 in the third period, Wranglers rookie goaltender Travis Fullerton made save after save, forcing the second game of the season into overtime. Wranglers defenseman Jeff May needed only 45 extra seconds of game play as he found the back of the net on a bounce, securing the 4-3 win for his team. In the victory, Fullerton made 31 saves.

The Wranglers begin a three-game series against the Alaska Aces on Friday, Oct. 25, at 7:05 p.m. Halloween comes early on Sunday, Oct. 27, as costumed kids age 12 and under will get into the 2:05 p.m. game for free, and a safe trick-or-treat will take place along the concourse. Fans can skate with the Wranglers for free after the day game with limited skates provided.
