BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (3-3-0-0), four-time Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2014 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, fell to the Bakersfield Condors (4-3-0-0) by a 3-2 score in front of a crowd of 2,683 on Tuesday night at Rabobank Arena.

The Condors took advantage of penalties to the Reign in the first period, as Chase Schaber and Josh Winquist scored on successive power-play opportunities for Bakersfield at the 5:15 and 7:32 marks, ending Ontario's season-opening 21-for-21 start on the penalty kill.

Ontario showed signs of life in the second period, however. Tristan King teamed up with Geoff Walker on a two-on-one break and wristed the puck past Ty Rimmer at 3:12 to get the Reign on the board.

Ontario struck again at 7:43, when Matt Register blasted a shot that caught Rimmer in the mask, allowing Matt White to crash the net and backhand his first of the season into the net to tie the score at 2-2.

In the third period, another Reign penalty gave way to a Condors power-play goal, when Jonathan Narbonne's point shot beat Cannata at 13:54.

Despite a late power-play opportunity for Ontario in the third, and Cannata pulled for the extra man, the Reign couldn't find the equalizer as time expired.

Cannata took the defeat with 20 saves; Rimmer earned the win with 30 stops.

Three Stars:

1. BAK - Josh Winquist

2. BAK - Jonathan Narbonne

3. BAK - Ty Rimmer
