QUICK REMATCH: The Oilers and Thunder face off for the second meeting of the season and for the second time in four days. Last Sunday at the BOK Center, the Oilers earned a narrow 6-5 overtime victory over the Thunder. Tulsa forward T.J. Caig provided the game-winning goal on a breakaway to help the Oilers strike first in the Stone Wolf Casino Cup series. Adam Pleskach tallied twice for Tulsa while Stephen Schultz led the Wichita attack with a goal and an assist. The rivals will clash again on Sunday in Tulsa with game time set for 4:05 p.m.
KANSAS WAS KIND: Last season the Oilers went 5-2-0 in Wichita and outscored the Thunder 27-18 in those contests.
FAST START: The Oilers are 2-0-0 for the first time since 2011-12 and are one of only three unbeaten teams in the ECHL. With 15 goals to their credit, the Oilers have set a new franchise high for offensive output in the first two games of a season. An astounding 25-percent of the Oilers total shots have found the back of the net. Tulsa has outscored its opponents 5-1 in the first period and has yet to trail at any point this season.
JUDSON DEBUT: Forward Luke Judson, acquired in a trade from the Idaho Steelheads last week, will play in his first game as an Oiler tonight in Wichita. A 6-foot-0, 200-pound right-wing, Judson is a second year pro and has recorded 12 goals and 10 assists in 58 career games.
SPECIAL TEAMS SPECTRUM: Tulsa connected for two power play goals on Friday in Allen and added another power play tally on Sunday against Wichita. The Oilers are 3-for-9 with the man advantage through two games and rank second in the ECHL with a 33-percent success rate. The Oilers are near the bottom of the league in penalty killing. Tulsa has allowed five goals in 11 opposing power plays and ranks 27th out of 28 teams with a 54.5-percent kill rate.
OIL DROPS: Defenseman Kevin Noble scored his first professional goal on Sunday against Wichita...Sunday's victory pushed Bruce Ramsay's record as Oilers Head Coach back above .500 (150-149-29)...Adam Pleskach scored the first shorthanded goal of the season in the first period of Sunday's win over the Thunder...
