Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), agreed to a professional tryout with goaltender Ray Emery.
Emery, 33, appeared in 31 games with the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL) last season going 10-11-7 with a 3.06 goals-against average and .894 save percentage. Over a 13-year professional career, the Hamilton, Ontario, native skated in 287 NHL contests with Philadelphia, Chicago, Anaheim and Ottawa earning a 248-155-46 record with a 2.58 goals-against average and .913 save percentage and helped the Chicago Blackhawks capture the 2013 Stanley Cup championship. In that same season, Emery teamed up with Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford to capture the William Jennings Trophy for the NHL's lowest goals-against average.
The 6-foot-2, 196-pound netminder holds 162 games of AHL experience with an 81-61-18 record, 2.50 goals-against average and .920 save percentage.
