ON THE SCORESHEET

- Byron Froese scored his second goal in as many games on an early man advantage in the second period. Froese also added the winner in the shootout.

- Picking up assists on the Froese goal were Brendan Leipsic and TJ Brennan, recording their first points of the season

- Andrew Campbell picked up his second goal of the season, redirecting a Matt Frattin wrist shot. Campbell's career high for goals in a season is three.

- Garret Sparks made 27 saves, including all four shooters in the shoot-out, for his first victory of the season.

NOTABLES

- Connor Brown led all forwards with seven shots on goal, while the Marlies directed 42 shots towards the Manitoba net.

- The Marlies were 1/5 on the power play while continuing their early season proficiency playing shorthanded, successfully killing all four Manitoba power plays.

- This was the first exposure for the Marlies to the new AHL overtime format which features a five minute overtime period with three skaters a side. The Marlies outshot the Moose 3-1 in the overtime frame.
