Hurricanes Reassign Danny Biega to Charlotte
October 10, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Charlotte Checkers News Release
RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned defenseman Danny Biega to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). The team also placed defenseman James Wisniewski on injured reserve after Wisniewski suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee on Thursday at Nashville. Dr. Marty Isbell of Raleigh Orthopaedic will perform surgery on Wisniewski's knee on Tuesday.
Biega, 24, was recalled to Carolina on Friday and was available, but did not play in the team's game against Detroit on Saturday. He will join the Checkers on Sunday in Des Moines, IA, as Charlotte will face off in the second of back-to-back games against the Iowa Wild.
