Oklahoma City, Okla. - Mike Hessman collected his fifth multi-homer game of the season and the Oklahoma City RedHawks (38-25) powered past the New Orleans Zephyrs (32-31) 12-9 Sunday evening before 4,974 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Hessman hit a two-run homer in each the first and fourth innings. He now has 17 home runs for the season and hit seven of them over the past week.

Scott Moore added a three-run homer in the second and finished with four RBIs as well. For the second straight game, Jimmy Paredes collected four hits. He also scored four times.

Six RedHawks finished with at least two hits as the RedHawks notched 17 hits on the day.

The RedHawks had a couple of six-run leads, but New Orleans kept finding ways back into the game. They cut the lead down to three on a few occasions but never got any closer.

The Zephyrs finished with 13 hits, including three each by Scott Cousins and Mike Cervenak. Nick Green and Chase Lambin each homered.

After RedHawks pitcher Brian Bass could not get through five innings, Mickey Storey (4-2) earned the win after going the next 1.2 frames, recording three strikeouts along the way. A day after the RedHawks struggled to close out the Zehpyrs in the ninth, Fernando Abad had no such troubles to earn his first save.

New Orleans pitcher Wade LeBlanc (3-5) had one of his rougher outings of the season, allowing eight runs and 11 hits over 3.1 innings.

The RedHawks finished their homestand 10-2 and will now hit the road for 11 games over 12 days. They'll start with three more in New Orleans beginning Monday night at 7 p.m. Live coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. on AM 1340 The Game, 1340thegame.com, or through the free IHeartRadio app on your mobile device.
