Tucson Padres News Release

The Reno Aces scored a run each in their final three innings to come back and beat the Tucson Padres Sunday, 4-2. Reno's leadoff hitter Adam Eaton went 4-for-5 with three doubles and a triple in the win. The game also featured an unusual ejection when Reno starter Charles Brewer was thrown out after umpires said Brewer had a foreign substance on his left forearm, and believed he was using it to manipulate the ball.

Tucson scored first on Matt Clark's RBI single in the first inning. With Reno runners at first and third in the fourth inning, Tucson starting pitcher Jorge Reyes was called for a balk, plating the tying run. The Padres went ahead on Cody Decker's double in the sixth inning. The Tucson lead was short lived with Reno runs coming across in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings.

Tucson reliever Josh Spence suffered his first Triple-A loss after surrendering two runs in two innings of work. Entering play Sunday, left-handed batters were hitting just .087 against Spence, but he allowed back-to-back hits to left-handed hitters to begin the eighth inning. Jedd Gyorko went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk and is now hitting .356 in 24 Triple-A games. Matt Clark had his second straight multi-hit game in the loss, going 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Next Game: Monday, at Las Vegas at 7:05 pm - Tucson LHP Colt Hynes (2-6, 5.27) vs. Las Vegas RHP Robert Coello (3-1, 3.41). Game coverage begins at 6:50 pm on Tejano 1600 AM.
