Today's Game: Fresh off snapping a three-game losing skid, the RedHawks will try and build a new winning streak when they square off against the Round Rock Express for the first time at 7:05 p.m.

Last Game: The RedHawks turned in a strong effort all around, blanking the Memphis Redbirds, 11-0 to salvage one game in their four-game series. Wes Musick (W, 1-0), Jarred Cosart, and Kyle Hallock combined on a five-hit shutout and did not allow an extra-base hit. At one point, Musick and Cosart combined to retire 14 consecutive Memphis hitters. The offense gave the pitching staff more than enough support, rapping out 11 runs and 12 hits. Brandon Laird notched three hits and Marc Krauss added three RBI. Jonathan Villar also had his first multi-hit game of the season, including the team's first triple of 2013.

Today's Probable Pitchers: Brett Oberholtzer takes the mound, looking to overcome his early season struggles...In his first two outings, Oberholtzer has allowed 13 runs (eight earned) and 13 hits over 7.1 innings...He took the loss in the team's home opener Friday against Memphis after giving up six runs over three innings, including a three-run homer in the first inning...Oberholtzer has made one career start against Round Rock, coming last Aug. 20 at The Dell Diamond...He pitched well, allowing two runs over 7.2 innings, but was outdueled by Martin Perez in a 2-1 defeat...Oberholtzer is usually effective at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, going 4-1 with a 2.12 ERA over seven starts last season.

There is no designated "second starter" following Oberholtzer tonight.

Against the Express: 2013: 0-0 2012: 10-6 All-time: 68-59 In OKC: 34-30

The RedHawks won 10 of 16 meetings with the Express in 2012, including six of eight at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark...The RedHawks hit .294 as a team...Scott Moore led the way with a .400 average and 12 RBI in just eight games...10 of the last 11 games between the two squads have been decided by three runs or less, including five by one or two runs...The RedHawks have not lost the season series in five of the last six years...Round Rock is once again led by Bobby Jones, the legendary RedHawks skipper who compiled 595 wins and five division titles over eight seasons. (He also managed the team when they were the 89ers in 1993-1994.)

Opening Acts: The RedHawks are 0-3 thus far in series openers. They have, however, won the finale in each of their first three series.

Goose-Egging: The RedHawks tossed their first shutout of the season in an 11-0 rout of Memphis last night. Last season, the RedHawks recorded five shutouts, including a 1-0 win over the Express on the final day of the season.

Jake Takes the Cake: Jake Elmore has recorded 18 hits over the last eight games, including a pair of game with at least four hits. Elmore has hit safely in each of the last 10 games (.465, 20x43), and his .444 average currently ranks fourth in the league. Last season Elmore recorded a PCL-best 31-game hitting streak and 46-game on-base streak while playing with Reno.

New Crowe Medicine Show: After going hitless in the first two games of the season, Trevor Crowe has hit safely in each of the last nine games (.378, 14x37). Going back to last season while playing for Salt Lake, Crowe has reached base safely in 33 consecutive games in the PCL. The current streak started against the RedHawks on Aug. 7.

Laird's Lair: Brandon Laird leads the team and is tied for fourth in the PCL with 14 RBI, which is also the tied for the most among Astros minor leaguers. He is hitting .370 and is also tied for the team lead with seven extra-base hits. Laird has enjoyed his first taste of Oklahoma City, recording multi-hit games in each of the team's first four home games and going 9-for-19 with five RBI.

Fernando's Hideaway: Astros outfielder Fernando Martinez has returned to Oklahoma City for a rehab assignment. He is 0-for-6 with two RBI over his first two games. Martinez was placed on Houston's Disabled List on March 27 with a strained left oblique. Last season with the RedHawks, Martinez was a staple of the middle of the lineup, hitting .314 with 13 homers and 62 RBI over 90 games. In four games against Round Rock, he went 7-for-17 with a homer and five RBI.

The Extra Bat: Through the first 10 games of the season, RedHawks designated hitters are only hitting .154 (6x39), although they have recorded 10 RBI. Last season the RedHawks played in just 47 games (18-29) with a DH, but the position produced .272/8/34.

Yard Work: Yesterday the RedHawks did not allow a home run for the first time in six games. The offense has not left the park in each of the last two games.

Better on the Bases: The RedHawks have been successful in each of their last three stolen bases attempts after getting off to a 6-for-14 start to the season.

Today's Transactions: The RedHawks made three roster moves today, resulting in the addition of two new players. LHP Eric Berger has reported to the team after being acquired in a trade from Cleveland for RedHawks catcher Chris Wallace yesterday. Although Berger spent most of last season at Triple-A Columbus (2-6, 5.50), he had been with Double-A Akron to begin the year and allowed two runs and six hits over 4.1 innings. Infielder Ruben Sosa has been sent back to Extended Spring Training and has been replaced by Andy Simunic, who has played in 11 games over the past two seasons for OKC.
