Rainiers Belt Bees In Finale, 7-3

TACOMA, Wash. - Joe Dunigan, Alex Liddi and Carlos Peguero each homered as the Tacoma Rainiers belted their way to a 7-3 win in the club's series finale with the Salt Lake Bees on Monday night.
Tacoma trailed 2-0 before scoring five runs via three homers in the bottom of the fifth inning. Dunigan cut the Rainiers deficit down to one run with a one-out solo shot - the designated hitter's first career Triple-A home run. Liddi later lifted a three-run homer that put the Rainiers up 4-2, and Carlos Peguero followed suit with a one-run blast in the club's next at-bat.
Tacoma mustered only four hits in the contest, but drew a season-high 10 walks. The outfielder Dunigan accounted for half of the club's hits total after ending the night 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Starter Andrew Carraway (1-1) picked up the first win of his 2013 campaign after holding the Bees to three runs, two earned, on seven hits over 5.2 innings. He issued one walk and struck out a season-high six batters.
Relievers Danny Farquhar (2.1) and Lucas Luetge (1.0) combined to strike out seven batters over the game's final 3.1 innings.
The Rainiers (6-6) begin the second leg of the club's first homestand of the season tomorrow, April 16, at 6 p.m. when they welcome the Fresno Grizzlies for a four-game series. Right-hander Jeremy Bonderman (0-1, 6.97) is slated to start for Tacoma in the series opener against right-hander Shane Loux for Fresno.
