Iowa Cubs News Release
Des Moines, IA - The Chicago Cubs activated 2B Darwin Barney from the disabled list today and optioned RHP Rafael Dolis back to Iowa. Dolis is available for tonight's game against the Nashville Sounds at Principal Park.
Barney was with the I-Cubs the last three days on a rehab assignment. He was 4-for-5 with a double and scored two runs yesterday and was 5-for-10 with four runs scored, three walks, and a stolen base overall.
Dolis started the season with Iowa and has no record with a 3.86 ERA (1ER/2.1IP) in three appearances. He was recalled to Chicago on Saturday when Kyuji Fujikawa was placed on the disabled list. He pitched in Saturday's game against the San Francisco Giants and retired the only batter he faced.
The Cubs host the Nashville Sounds tonight at 6:35 at Principal Park. The gates will open at 5:05. The first 1,000 fans will receive an Anthony Rizzo jersey t-shirt sponsored by Musco Lighting. The game will be broadcast live on AM 940 and streamed live at iowacubs.com with the On-Deck Circle Pre-Game Show starting at 6:15.
