Tonight's Game-- The RedHawks can clinch a winning road trip with a victory tonight when they face Albuquerque at 8:05 p.m. It would also be the first time the RedHawks won twice in a series against the Isotopes this year.

Last Night-- Brad Snyder celebrated his birthday with two home runs and Landon Powell added a three-run homer as the RedHawks beat the Isotopes 10-4 Friday night. Snyder started the scoring with a solo homer in the second inning, but Albuquerque's Jeff Baisley answered in the bottom of the inning with a solo shot of his own to tie the score. The RedHawks scored twice more in the third, but Trent Oeltjen hit a solo homer in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 3-2. The RedHawks opened things up with a five-run fifth inning. Fernando Martinez hit an RBI double to make it 4-2. With two outs, Angel Sanchez collected an RBI single, and Powell capped the rally with a three-run homer. Leading 8-4 in the ninth inning, Snyder went deep for the second time-a two-run homer that put the RedHawks up by six. In his second straight start, Mickey Storey (2-2) tossed five effective innings, allowing three runs and five hits. He struck out five and walked one. Albuquerque starting pitcher Stephen Fife was knocked out with two outs in the fifth inning for his shortest outing since he faced the RedHawks in Oklahoma City on April 22. He was charged with seven runs and eight hits and tied a season high with seven strikeouts.

Tonight's Probable Pitchers-- Wes Musick makes his second start after being promoted from Double-A Corpus Christi...In his team and Triple-A debut Monday in Colorado Springs, Musick turned in a quality start, allowing two runs and six hits over six innings in a no decision...Both runs scored on a stretch of four straight hits with one out in the fifth...Outside of that run he allowed just two hits over his other five innings...Musick began the season at High-A Lancaster, going 3-1 with a 2.51 ERA over five starts...With Corpus Christi, Musick allowed four runs over 12 innings on just nine hits...He came to the Astros with current RedHawk Jonnathan Aristil from Colorado in a trade for Matt Lindstrom in December, 2010...Albuquerque starter John Ely has been on a roll lately...Since taking a loss in OKC on April 23, Ely has reeled off five straight quality starts...On Monday against Fresno, Ely tossed eight scoreless innings but did not earn the victory as the Grizzlies tied the game in the ninth...Ely has been unaffected by the hitter-friendly environment at home, going 2-0 with a 1.60 ERA over five starts...He leads the team with 54.1 innings and 58 strikeouts, which is also third in the PCL.

Super Snyder-- Yesterday Brad Snyder had his first multi-homer game since August 1, 2010. Oddly enough, each of Snyder's last two multi-homer games came against the RedHawks while playing for the Iowa Cubs. He has hit four homers in his last three games, doubling his season total. Snyder hit 11 homers in 102 games with Iowa last season.

Homer Happy-- The RedHawks have hit 36 homers in their last 20 games and are first in the PCL with 58 home runs. In six of their last 10 games, they've gone deep three or more times. During the first nine games of the road trip, they've left the yard 20 times. The RedHawks hit 19 homers in 25 games in April. Their 39 homers this month (23 games) is eight more than anyone else in the PCL.

Hot Bats-- Over their last 13 games, the RedHawks have scored 92 runs with 152 hits, including 27 homers. Not surprisingly, they've gone 10-3 during this stretch.

Plenty of Paredes-- Yesterday Jimmy Paredes collected his 10th multi-hit game in his last 13 games overall. During this stretch he is hitting .456 (26-for-57) with two home runs and six RBIs. Since May 12, he has more hits than anyone else in the Minors. He leads the team with 58 hits, 37 runs scored, as well as 15 stolen bases.

Poweful Powell-- All four of Landon Powell's home runs have come over six games during the current road trip. He has hit safely in all six games, going 10-for-21 with eight RBIs. Powell had just six RBIs for the season until the recent surge.

Eight is (Hopefully Not) Enough-- For the fourth time this season, the RedHawks are eight games above .500 (12-4, 16-8, 27-19). However, they've never been able to get above that mark in their three previous tries.

Ruggiano Traded-- Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow announced today the team acquired minor league catcher Jobduan Morales from the Miami Marlins in exchange for RedHawks outfielder Justin Ruggiano. In 39 games, Ruggiano hit .325 with five homers and 29 RBIs. He was 4-for-7 with seven RBIs as a pinch hitter.

Road Trip Challenge-- Three-fourths of the way through a 12-game road trip through hitter-friendly Reno, Colorado Springs, and Albuquerque, the RedHawks pitching staff has posted a 7.39 ERA. The starters are 4-3 with a 9.30 ERA (41 ER/39.2 IP) and the relievers are 2-0 with three saves and a 4.72 ERA (18 ER/34.1 IP).

Against the Isotopes-- The RedHawks are 3-6 against Albuquerque, including three one-run losses...The RedHawks are 25-14 against the rest of the league and the Isotopes are 21-19 against the rest of the PCL...The RedHawks have been outscored 57-46 and the Isotopes are hitting .329 against the RedHawks pitching staff...Jimmy Paredes has led the way for OKC, going 16-for-39 with five doubles...This is a pivotal series between the top two teams in the American Southern division since their next meeting will not be until the final week of the season, August 27-30 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
