TONIGHT: A 4-game homestand wraps up with the finale of a series with the Omaha Royals. OKC has won the first 3 games of the series and has 8 straight home victories going back to June 13. The RedHawks lead the season series 8-3 over the Royals. OKC began play today leading the American South Division by 4.5 games over Albuquerque, which hosted Memphis this afternoon. Omaha is fourth, 1.5 games back of the lead in the American North. Elizardo Ramirez makes his first start of the season for the RedHawks after spending the entire season in the bullpen. Manauris Baez, recently up from Class A Wilmington, gets the ball for Omaha.

RICHARDSON HITS THIRD OKC WALK-OFF THIS MONTH: Kevin Richardson ended last night's game with a 2-run, walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth in a 4-3 OKC win. Richardson's blast was the RedHawks' third game-winning homer this month. The RedHawks had hit a total of 3 walk-off homers in the previous 3 seasons. OKC has 19 game-tying or lead-taking home runs in the fifth inning or later this season, going 15-4 in those games.

EIGHT STRAIGHT AT HOME: The RedHawks have won a season-high 8 in a row at home. It matches the second-longest home winning streak within a single season in RedHawks club history. OKC also won 8 straight at The Brick from July 25-Aug. 11, 2005. The longest home winning streak is 13 straight from Aug. 12-Sept. 2, 1999 to conclude a division-winning year.

STREAKERS: Esteban German had an 8-game hitting streak snapped last night. Craig Gentry went 0-for-2 before being removed form the game in the fifth inning, ending his 6-game hitting streak that dated to his most recent optioning by Texas June 22. Lefty reliever Clay Rapada has tossed 13 consecutive scoreless innings, allowing just 3 hits in that span.

BROWN IN, GENTRY TO DL: Matt Brown, on the DL with a strained left oblique since May 4, has been activated. Craig Gentry has been placed on the 7-day DL with a sprained left MCL in his knee, injured making a catch at the right-center field fence in last night's second inning.

MORELAND DRIVES IN ANOTHER: Right fielder Mitch Moreland added 1 RBI last night, bringing his June RBI total to 24, tied for the third most in the PCL this month. Moreland continues to share the league lead (with Fresno's Ben Copeland) in outfield assists with 10.

DAVIS AMONG LEADERS: Chris Davis is tied with Albuquerque's Jay Gibbons for second in the PCL batting race at .335. The player in front, Jason Bourgeois of Round Rock (.345), is currently with the Houston Astros. Albuquerque's John Lindsey led the batting race through Saturday at .405, but because of a DL stint does not have enough plate appearances to qualify.

ERA NO. 1: The RedHawks lead the PCL in team ERA at 3.54. Iowa began play today second at 3.80. OKC has allowed the fewest home runs in the league (40), 17 fewer than the closest team, Fresno. The RedHawks are second in strikeouts (572) behind Sacramento (587).

PETIT PLAYER OF THE WEEK: OKC shortstop Gregorio Petit is the PCL Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday. Petit became the fourth player in PCL history to record 2 grand slams in one game on Tuesday in New Orleans. For the week, Petit went 10-for-25 (.400) with 2 doubles, 3 homers and 11 RBIs.
