Today's Game: Staff ace Jarred Cosart heads to the mound as the RedHawks try and bounce back from last night's defeat when they play on in Sacramento tonight at 9:05 p.m. central time.

Last Game: Sacramento starting pitcher Andrew Werner turned in arguably his best start of the season, limiting the RedHawks to one run over seven innings as OKC fell, 4-2. Neither team had a hit through three innings, but the River Cats scored twice in the fourth. The RedHawks scored their first run in the fifth, but in the bottom of the inning, Scott Moore and Andy Parrino led off with back-to-back home runs. The RedHawks closed the gap to 4-2 after an Andy Simunic RBI single in the eighth and put the tying runs in scoring position with one out, but they would get no closer. After a great start to his evening, RedHawks pitcher Ross Seaton (0-4) left three batters into the fifth inning, allowing four runs and six hits over four-plus innings.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Jarred Cosart looks to add another notch to his terrific 2013 campaign...Cosart currently ranks fourth in the league with a 2.08 ERA and his .191 opponent batting average is third-best. He leads the team in wins (4), innings (39.0), and strikeouts (43). Cosart averages 10.19 strikeouts per nine innings (5th in PCL) and has the third-most strikeouts among Astros farmhands...On Sunday against Salt Lake, Cosart went a season-high six innings and allowed one run. The only two hits he allowed were on back-to-back singles in the second inning. He induced 12 groundouts and left with a 3-1 lead, but the Bees scored eight runs over the final two innings...Cosart has allowed one or no runs in seven of his eight outings this season as well as three or less hits in five of those games...Tonight is his first career appearance against Sacramento.

Against the River Cats: 2013: 1-1 2012: 0-4 All-time: 28-34 In Sacramento: 13-17

Sacramento has won seven of the last eight games dating back to 2011...The River Cats swept the RedHawks last Aug. 10-13, becoming the only visiting team to claim a sweep in OKC. The sweep was part of a season-worst 10-game losing streak. All three games were decided by three runs or less...The RedHawks split their last trip to Raley Field in 2011. That series included the third-longest game in RedHawks history, when the River Cats won 3-2 in 16 innings on May 21, 2011 on an RBI single by Eric Sogard...The RedHawks last won a series in Sacramento in 2004 and have not won the season series in seven of the last eight years.

The House Tony D Built: Prior to joining the RedHawks in 2011, manager Tony DeFrancesco was the Sacramento skipper for seven seasons (2003-2007; 2009-2010). He compiled a 578-429 record and won six division titles and thee PCL championships.

Big 12 Big Trip: The RedHawks are in the middle of their annual 12-day road trip while the Big 12 Baseball Championship takes place at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. After this series, the RedHawks will continue onto Fresno then Des Moines, where they will play five games in four days to make up for an earlier postponement against the Iowa Cubs. Last season the RedHawks went 6-6 during their Big 12 road trip, with stops in Reno, Colorado Springs, and Albuquerque. This season they are 1-1.

Back-to-Back First: Scott Moore and Andy Parrino's back-to-back home runs were the first by a RedHawks opponent since Aug. 5, 2012 when Salt Lake's John Hester and Ryan Langerhans each went deep on consecutive pitches against Rudy Owens. Coincidentally, Moore went yard along with Mike Hessman the last time the RedHawks hit back-to-back home runs on June 25, 2012 against Omaha.

Bully for the Pen: The bullpen has pitched 8.2 scoreless innings at Raley Field, allowing just two hits. Going back to Tuesday, the RedHawks relief corps has tossed 11.1 consecutive scoreless frames and has scattered three hits over that time.

At Your Own RISP: The RedHawks have held their opponents to a .154 average (12-for-78) with runners in scoring position over the last eight games as well as a .163 mark (16-for-98) during the previous 10 contests.

Slump Busting: Andy Simunic had been 1 for his last 17 prior to this series. He's broke out of the slump going 5-for-9 with two doubles and four RBI over the first two games in Sacramento.

Linsanity: Che-Hsuan Lin has hit safely in five of his last six games, batting .444 (8x18) with five RBI. He's also walked three times and has not struck out during this recent run.

The Runnin' RedHawks of OKC: After not swiping a base in each of previous two games, the RedHawks tallied two steals last night. They currently lead the league with 58 stolen bases.

Kount 'Em: The RedHawks have struck out 100 batters the last 11 games, with at least eight K's in six of the last seven games. The recent run is a bit out of the norm, as their 286 strikeouts this season ranks 13th in the PCL.

Walk This Way: The RedHawks pitching staff has walked 36 batters over the last six games, with at least six walks in a game five times. Their 155 walks this season is the sixth-most in the league. The River Cats lead professional baseball with 207 walks drawn.

Running With the Pac: The RedHawks are in the midst of a stretch of 16-straight games against Pacific Conference foes, going 6-4 so far. Last season the RedHawks went 14-17 against the other side of the league, including a 6-10 mark on the road.
