Tonight's Game-- The RedHawks look for a sixth straight win, which would tie their longest win streak of 2011. Aneury Rodriguez makes his second start for the RedHakws, squaring off against Mike Fiers, the 2011 Brewers Minor League Pitcher of the Year. Astros shortstop Jed Lowrie will also continue with his rehab assignement.

Last Night-- Astros shortstop Jed Lowrie knocked in two runs on a fifth inning, two-out single and led the RedHawks to a 5-1 win over the Sounds. RedHawks starter Paul Clemens (1-1) allowed one unearned run and five hits with one walk and four strikeouts in five innings for the winning decision. Top Milwaukee Brewers prospect Wily Peralta (0-1) allowed only an infield hit in the first four innings, before giving up a pair of runs in the fifth inning in the losing decision. Oklahoma City added three insurance runs in the seventh inning, all with two outs. The RedHawks pitching staff retired the final 15 Nashville hitters, as well as 18 of the final 19.

Tonight's Probable Pitchers-- Aneury Rodriguez makes his second start after earning a win last Friday against Memphis...Rodriguez surrendered three runs over five innings and struck out nine--the most by a RedHawks pitcher this year...He was a Rule 5 pick of the Astros in Dec., 2010, and stayed on the Astros active roster all of 2011 in order for Houston to retain his rights...In 43 apperances (8 starts), Rodriguez was 1-6 with a 5.27 ERA...He was originally signed by Colorado in 2005 and traded to Tampa Bay in April, 2009...Nashville starter Mike Fiers also makes his second start of the season...In his season debut, Fiers allowed just one run and three hits with seven strikeouts and no walks against New Orleans, but he did not earn a decision...Last season Fiers was named the Brewers Minor Leauge Pitcher of the Year, leading all of the Minors with a 1.86 ERA split between Huntsville and Nashville.

Fantastic Fernando-- RedHawks outfielder Fernando Martinez is off to a great start, and he is just one of eight players in the PCL to hit safely in the first six games of the season. He leads the team in hits (8) and RBIs (7), and he is tied for the team lead with four extra-base hits. Along with Brett Wallace, Martinez is only player to start every game for the RedHawks.

In A Pinch-- Last night Justin Ruggiano delivered the first pinch-hit of the season with a two-run double in the seventh. However, despite the lack of hits, RedHawks pinch hitters have been productive, reaching base in six of 10 plate appearances.

Hail Hessman-- RedHawks first baseman Mike Hessman is the active leader in career minor league home runs. His 330 blasts is almost 100 more than Val Pascucci of Buffalo, who is second on the list with 234. Toledo's Brad Eldred ranks third with 229. Combined with his homers from the Majors and Japan, Hessman has a total of 350 career home runs since beginning his professional career in 1996.

Balanced Attack-- Although the RedHawks rank third in the league with 37 runs, no individual ranks among the top five in any major offensive category. They have relied on timely hitting rather than home runs, as they are tied for the second-least homers in the PCL with three. They are hitting .350 as a team with runners in scoring position, and a blistering .429 with runners in scoring position and 2 outs.

Now That's Quality-- The RedHawks have had great starting pitching to begin the season. Through the first six games, the starters have combined to go 4-1 with a 1.97 ERA (7 ER/32.0 IP) and a 29:6 strikeout to walk ratio. Three of the five starters have turned in a quality start, and no OKC starter has surrendered more than three runs. The lone loss was charged to Paul Clemens, who allowed a pair of solo home runs over six effective innings on 4/5.

Against the Sounds-- The RedHawks went 9-7 against the Sounds in 2011, despite being outhit and outscored by Nashville...The RedHawks pitching staff fanned 138 batters in 138 innings...Collin DeLome was one of the team's offensive leaders, hitting .448 (13x29) with two homers, six RBI, and a .538 on-base percentage in 12 games. The RedHawks were 6-2 against the Sounds in Bricktown, including a series sweep May 2-5. These two teams will meet 16 times in 2012, with the Sounds' next trip to OKC coming May 29-June 1.

Welcome to Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark-- Officials with the Oklahoma City RedHawks and the Chickasaw Nation announced Thursday, April 5 they had decided to rename the stadium Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The RedHawks and the Chickasaw Nation believe the new name meets the objectives of the partnership and is respectful to the wishes of Oklahoma City citizens and passionate RedHawks fans. The agreement still includes branding elements for Newcastle Casino, Chickasaw Country and the Chickasaw Nation, consumer promotions, hospitality at stadium events and opportunities to use the ballpark for Chickasaw Nation and Newcastle Casino programs.

RedHawks Radio-- For the second consecutive season, the Oklahoma City RedHawks and Clear Channel Radio of Oklahoma City will broadcast all 144 RedHawks games on AM 1340 The Game...Each game will be carried live and all broadcasts will start 30 minutes before the first pitch with "RedHawks On-Deck"... Game audio will also be available through the station website stream at 1340thegame.com and on mobile devices through the free Clear Channel iheartradio app.... "The Voice of the RedHawks" J.P. Shadrick returns for his second season and will be joined in the booth this year by Alex Freedman.
