The Sacramento River Cats exploded for 16 runs in the middle innings of Tuesday's game in Tucson and coasted to an 18-6 victory over the Padres. Grant Green's grand slam highlighted a six-run fourth inning, the River Cats added three in the fifth and sent 11 batters to the plate in the sixth inning, scoring seven runs. Sacramento tallied 22 hits, two shy of a franchise record.

The Padres scored the first four runs of the game on two home runs. Matt Clark hit his first of the season in the first inning, clearing the center field batter's eye, a feat only seen once at Kino Stadium in 2011. One inning later, Sawyer Carroll hit his first Triple-A home run to put the Padres in front, 4-0.

All nine Sacramento starters had at least one hit Tuesday. Jermaine Mitchell went 4-for-5 with four singles atop Sacramento's batting order. Tucson's Blake Tekotte went 3-for-4 with a single, double and triple in the loss.
