RedHawks Fall to Memphis, 5-2

The Redbirds advanced their winning streak to four games as Memphis (29-23) held the RedHawks offense to just two runs taking the second game of the series 5-2.

RedHawks starter Omar Beltre (L, 0-4) went six innings for his longest outing of the year striking out six batters, allowing two earned runs and walking one. In relief, Clay Rapada and Willie Eyre each allowed a run.

Redbirds starter Oneli Perez (W,1-1) made his best start of the year working six innings, holding OKC to two runs, striking out three.

In the fifth inning Kevin Richardson slugged a two-run homer (2).

Gregorio Petit extended his on-base streak to fifteen games when he was hit by a pitch in the eighth inning.

Ryan Garko had his hit streak snapped at ten games.

The RedHawks home losing streak continues to pile up as the Redbirds victory moved the skid to six games. Oklahoma City's home record sits at 13-and-13.

Oklahoma City and Memphis will continue their four-game set Thursday evening at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. Michael Kirkman (5-1, 2.85) and Ryan Kulik (0-1, 21.00) are slated to pitch for the RedHawks and Redbirds respectively with a first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm.
