RedHawks Fall 7-2 in Series Finale

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks lost the third and final game of their series with the St. Paul Saints by a score of 7-2 at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, N.D. The loss leaves the RedHawks with a record of 2-5. The Saints improved to 5-2.

The Saints started the scoring in the first inning for the second night in a row. They added two in the eighth, and then, tacked on four more in the ninth. Brandon Tripp, who was 4-for-7 in the first two games, continued his success against the RedHawks as he went 3-for-5 with a double and four RBI. Ole Sheldon also had a big day offensively going 2-for-3 with two walks, two RBI, and one run scored.

Kole Zimmerman was involved in all of the RedHawks scoring. Zimmerman was 1-for-2 with a solo home run in the third inning and scored again in the bottom of the eighth inning on a single by Zach Penprase. Carlo Cota saw his six game hit streak come to a close.

Donald Brandt of the Saints earned the win, pitching seven plus innings and allowing three hits and two runs. He gave up two walks and had two strikeouts. Casey Hoorelbeke was charged with the loss.

The RedHawks will travel to Gary to play the Railcats for a three-game series. The next home game for the RedHawks is on Monday, May 23. The Winnipeg Goldeyes will be in Fargo for a four-game series.
