Fort Worth 8, Wichita 1

A terrific pitching performance by starter Wade Mackey leads the Fort Worth Cats to an 8-1 win over the Wichita Wingnuts. Mackey tossed a complete game two-hitter allowing only one earned run in his first professional start. RF Marcos Rodriguez, 3B Travis Metcalf and 1B Trent Lockwood each collected three hits to lead the Cats offense. For the Wingnuts in defeat, RF Jorge Cortes scored the lone run in a 1-for-3 day.

St. Paul 7, Fargo-Moorhead 2

The St. Paul Saints broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the eighth inning and would go on to win 7-2 over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. With the win, the Saints take two of three in the series. St. Paul RF Brandon Tripp went 3-for-5 and drove in four runs while 1B Ole Sheldon had a 2-for-3 day with a run scored and two RBIs. Saints starting pitcher Donald Brandt moved to 2-0 on the season with the win. He gave up two earned runs on three hits in seven innings of work.

El Paso 6, Amarillo 2

El Paso finished off the sweep of the Amarillo Sox as they rolled out to a 5-0 lead after two innings and would win by the score of 6-2. 1B Kyle Nichols led the Diablos offense going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI while 2B Albenis Machado, SS Arnoldo Ponce and RF Stephen Douglas each collected two hits. El Paso starting pitcher David Whigham evened his record at 1-1 on the year allowing two earned runs on six hits in six innings pitched.

Lincoln 8, Grand Prairie 1

With the help of six errors by Grand Prairie, the Lincoln Saltdogs cruised to an 8-1 win. Saltdogs INF Curt Smith went 2-for-5 with a home run and three runs scored while SS Vance Albitz chipped in with two hits, two runs scored and two RBIs. Saltdogs starter Alessandro Maestri evened his record at 1-1 with the victory giving up an earned run on two hits over six innings of work. AirHogs 2B David Espinosa went 2-for-4 and scored the lone run in the loss.
