
RedHawks End Homestand on High Note

The Oklahoma RedHawks won their series finale against the Memphis Redbirds Friday night, with a 4-3 victory at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The RedHawks finished their eight-game homestand, winning three straight games.
Oklahoma (62-62) took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning when Kevin Mahar scored on a wild pitch. The Hawks finished the game with seven hits.
After Nashville (50-77) scored a run in the third to tie the score at one, Nate Gold gave the RedHawks a 2-1 lead with a solo homer in the bottom of the third. Gold now leads the RedHawks with 20 home runs on the season.
Each team added two more runs to make the final score 4-3.
Armando Galarraga (1-1) earned his first win of the season, allowing one run on seven hits in 6.2 innings. Galarraga was making just his second start of the season for the RedHawks after being promoted from Double-A Frisco Thursday. Francisco Cruceta made it intresting in the ninth, allowing two runs on one hit and three walks, to earn his first save since 2000.
Blake Hawksworth (3-13) took the loss as he allowed two runs on just three hits in five innings.
The RedHawks travel to New Orleans for a 6:00 pm CDT game, and the Redbirds travel to Iowa for a 7:05 game.
