RedHawks Earn Split in Las Vegas with 6-5 Win

Las Vegas, Nev. - Anderson Hernandez was 3-for-4 with three RBI leading the Oklahoma City RedHawks (20-65) to a 6-5 win over the Las Vegas 51s (57-58) before 4,758 Saturday night at Cashman Field.

RedHawks reliever Douglas Arguello (5-6) allowed two hits over one and one-thirds innings in the winning decision. Sean Henn (3-2) gave up the game-winning run in the eighth inning for the losing decision. Juan Abreu (1) saved the game with a scoreless ninth inning.

The RedHawks built an early 3-0 lead with single runs in the first, second and fourth innings. Chris Johnson doubled home Anderson Hernandez for a 1-0 score in the first. In the second, Hernandez doubled Collin Delome for a 2-0 score. In the fourth inning Delome singled in Jake Goebbert for a 3-0 advantage.

Las Vegas struck against RedHawks starter Lucas Harrell in the fourth inning. Ryan Budde broke his bat on an infield single with the bases loaded for an RBI, cutting the Hawks lead to 3-1. Mike McCoy next singled in two runs for a 3-3 deadlock. McCoy next scored from first base on an errant pickoff throw for the 4-3 Las Vegas lead.

The RedHawks took the lead in the sixth inning with a pair of runs. Goebbert scored from third on a fielder's choice and throwing error for a 4-4 tie. Delome later scored on an Anderson Hernandez double for a 5-4 lead.

Las Vegas tied the game in the bottom of the seventh inning. Adam Loewen doubled and later scored on a wild pitch for a 5-5 tie.

Oklahoma City took the lead for good in the eighth inning when Hernandez singled home Oswaldo Navarro for a 6-5 advantage.
