Oklahoma City Comets News Release

The Oklahoma RedHawks beat the Albuquerque Isotopes 4-1 Friday to complete a four-game series sweep.

The RedHawks took a 2-1 lead in the third inning on a two-run home run by leftfielder Adrian Brown. It was Brown's first home run of the year, including the 25 games he spent with Texas.

Rightfielder Laynce Nix helped pad the RedHawks lead in the fourth and eighth innings. His sacrifice fly brought home Joaquin Arias in the fourth to make the score 3-1. He singled with two outs in the eighth to score Freddy Guzman and make the score 4-1.

Nix finished the night one-for-three with three RBIs. He has 15 RBIs in his last 10 games.

First baseman Jason Hart played his first game in a RedHawk uniform since 2003. He went two-for-four with a double. Hart missed 2004 while recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumor. He spent all of 2005 with the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders and started 2006 with the Rochester Red Wings in the Minnesota organization.

RedHawk starting pitcher Derek Lee went seven innings and gave up one run on four hits with two walks and six strikeouts to improve his record to 1-2. Bryan Corey pitched the ninth and picked up his sixth save of the season.

Corey has not allowed a run in his last six outings. In his last six outings he has five saves and struck out nine while walking one and giving up four hits.

The sweep is Oklahoma's second of the season. The RedHawks swept Memphis in the first series of the season, April 6-9.

The RedHawks welcome the Iowa Cubs for a four-game series beginning at 7:05 Saturday at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.
