FRESNO, Calif. - The punchless Fresno Grizzlies offense wasted another quality Michael Tejera start, losing a 6-1 decision for their second straight loss to the Tucson Sidewinders Thursday night at Grizzlies Stadium.

Tejera (3-2) limited the Sidewinders to two runs over seven innings and recorded one of Fresno's six hits, but suffered the loss due to poor run support as the Grizzlies trailed 2-1 when Tejera left the game.

With the game knotted at one in the seventh, relief pitcher Mike Bacsik singled to left field with two outs and scored on Alberto Callaspo's triple to right-center field to give Tucson a 2-1 advantage.

Tucson (31-24) added four runs in the ninth after reliever Erick Threets walked the bases loaded with no outs. Carlos Hines relieved Threets and center fielder Chris Young drove a run in with a sacrifice fly. Hines then hit two consecutive batters, bringing another run home and the final run scored on catcher Guillermo Rodriguez's throwing error trying to throw out Kenny Perez stealing second base.

The Grizzlies opened the scoring in the first inning as Fred Lewis doubled and was knocked in on Todd Linden's RBI-single to center field. But that was all the offense Fresno could come up as they managed just four hits the rest of the way. Linden finished 2-3 with one RBI and a walk.

Bacsik (4-0) picks up the win after Tucson starter Bill Murphy allowed one run through four innings.

Tucson and Fresno will meet up for the final time of 2006 Friday at Grizzlies Stadium with RHP Pedro Liriano on the mound for the Grizzlies against RHP Dustin Nippert with first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
