TONIGHTfS GAME: The Red Wings seek to make it two wins in a row and earn a split of their four-game series against the Charlotte Knights (White Sox) Monday evening (7:15 p.m.) at Knights Stadium in Ft. Mill, SC... The Wings have won 7 of their last 11 games and are 23-21 since their 2-11 start; but remain 10.0 GB of Pawtucket in the IL North... Much like the Wings, the Knights have rebounded from a tough start as they are 17-14 since the beginning of May after going 7-20 in April... The Wings will continue their eight-game southern swing in Gwinnett Tues-Fri before returning to Frontier Field on Saturday for 8 games in 9 days.

WITH A WIN TONIGHT, THE WINGS...:

¨Will earn a split of the 4-game series and avoid losing their 6th series of the season and first against CHA since 6/20-6/23/11.

¨Will earn a split of the season series with the Knights after the two teams split a series in Rochester May 23-26.

COLABELLO COMING BACK TO WINGS: Chris Colabellofs crazy season continued Sunday as he was optioned back to Rochester and is expected to join the Wings in Charlotte in time for tonightfs game. Colabello was promoted to the Major Leagues for the first time in his career on May 22 when Trevor Plouffe went on the 7-day DL with a concussion. After spending a week with the Twins, Colabello was back with the Red Wings for one night (May 29 but did not play) before hopping a flight back to Minnesota on Friday, May 30 after Plouffe was put back on the DL with a calf strain.

THE BIG BAT IS BACK: Just how good a season was Colabello having in the IL at the time he was promoted? Despite not playing for the Red Wings since May 21 (12 days ago), Colabello still ranks 2nd in the IL in TB (116), T-2nd in XBH (29), T-3rd in HR (12) and doubles (17), and T-5th in hits (63) and RBI (39). He also comes back as the leaguefs top hitter (.358) and with the best SLG% (.659). Furthermore, in the month of May he was leading all of baseball in hits, XBH, doubles and TB prior to his call-up... When he returns to the heart of the Wings lineup he will try to extend his season-long 13-game hitting streak (.469; 4 HR, 9 2B, 9 R, 17 RBI) and 7-game RBI streak (15 total RBI).

¨Over his 2 stints with the Twins, Colabello went 2-for-15 in 6 games.

MORE MOVES: The Twins selected the contract of OF Clete Thomas on Monday. Thomas was hitting .296 with 9 homers and 25 RBI in 36 games with the Red Wings this season. Thomas has been responsible for all three of the Red Wings 3-run homers this season... To clear room on the 40-man roster, the Twins designated LHP Tyler Robertson for assignment. Robertson went 2-0 with one save and 3.05 ERA (7 ER/ 20.2 IP) in 21 appearances with the Wings after being optioned down from Minnesota on April 6... LHP Blake Martin was transferred to Rochester from New Britain after going 2-1, 4.71 ERA in 15 games with the Rock Cats. Martin was much better out of the bullpen (2.65 ERA in 12 games) than in the rotation (7.71 ERA in 3 starts).

¨10 Wings on the current roster were not on the Red Wings Opening Day roster... Thomas is 6th Wing to be promoted this year

MORE ABOUT YESTERDAY...:

¨The Wings season-high 5-game homer streak was snapped... as was Oswaldo Arciafs 3-game home run streak.

¨The Wings stole a tied for season-high 3 bases for a 5th time this season.

¨After committing an error in 8 straight games, ROC played their second straight error-free game Sunday tying a season-high

TIME TO MAKE OUR MOVE: The Wings have started 1-2 on a 16-game stretch against three teams (Charlotte, Gwinnett & Toledo) that had a combined .382 winning percentage (63-102) entering play on May 31... At current, the Wings wonft face another team with a winning record until they travel to Indianapolis on June 25. The Indians, Pittsburghfs top affiliate, currently own the best record in the IL at 39-19.

CLOSE CALLS: The first seven games the Wings and Knights have played against each other this season have been decided by a combined 10 runs. The last four games between the clubs and five of the seven have been one-run affairs... In the first six games, neither team had scored more than four runs in any game.
