
Red Wings Top PawSox 7-4, Spoil Dalbec's Triple-A Debut

PAWTUCKET, R.I. - The Rochester Red Wings (57-55) took game two of this three-game set with the Pawtucket Red Sox (48-63) on Saturday night at McCoy Stadium by a score of 7-4.
Making his Triple-A debut, Bobby Dalbec, ranked by Baseball America as the Red Sox' top prospect, went 2-for-4 as the third baseman.
The Red Wings started the scoring in the third on a two-run home run by Brandon Barnes, his 25th homer of the season.
Rochester would add three more in the inning. Alejandro De Aza doubled in their third run, followed up by another RBI double from Ronald Torreyes to score their fourth. Brandon Barnes added the fifth on a ground out back to reliever Mike Shawaryn.
Pawtucket came back with one in the fifth on a Josh Ockimey's 20th home run of the season.
The PawSox added two more in the following inning as Rusney Castillo doubled in Tzu-Wei Lin and Chris Owings. The clutch double tightened the score to 5-3 after six innings of play.
Rochester responded with a run in the seventh on a Ramon Flores two-out single, driving in Alejandro De Aza.
An insurance run in the ninth inning off an Alejandro De Aza groundout brought the score to 7-3 heading into the bottom of the ninth.
The PawSox attempted a comeback in the ninth, first on a lead-off home run from Chad De La Guerra, his 13th of the season. However, the scoring was halted for a 7-4 loss.
Mike Miller played as a visitor at McCoy for the first time in his career tonight, after he spent the first seven-plus seasons of his career in the Red Sox organization. He batted lead-off and went 1-for-4 with a double, walk and run scored. Miller started the game-ending double play from second base in the ninth.
Kevin Lenik made his PawSox debut in the sixth inning. The righty tossed two innings, allowing three hits and an earned run.
Bobby Poyner got the start and went three innings while allowing two runs on a pair of hits.
The PawSox will play the finale of this three-game homestand against the Rochester Red Wings, starting tomorrow at 1:05 p.m. PawSox southpaw Kyle Hart (7-4, 3.54) is scheduled to oppose Red Wings righty Adam Bray (1-0, 2.77).
Radio coverage on WHJJ (920 AM and 104.7 FM) and throughout the PawSox Radio Network begins with the pre-game show at 12:35 p.m.
Tomorrow is the PawSox's 22nd Annual FanFest, Ladies Day, and another Family Funday, which will include pre-game catch on the field and post-game run the bases.
After a six-game road trip through Ohio next week, the PawSox will return home on Tuesday, August 13 for a six-game homestand. Friday, August 16 will feature a Red Sox World Series Champion Replica Ring giveaway for the first 3,000 fans in attendance. Saturday, August 17th will be a country-music themed fireworks display after the game. The first 5,000 fans in attendance on Sunday, August 18, will receive a PawSox Card Set.
