Beloit Sky Carp News Release
DAVENPORT, Iowa - The Quad Cities River Bandits picked up their ninth straight victory Thursday night, cruising over the Beloit Sky Carp 6-1.
The River Bandits scored single runs in each of the first two innings, then plated a pair of runs in both the fifth and the sixth frames.
Beloit managed its only run in the eighth inning when Joe Mack plated Tanner Allen with a single to make it 6-1.
Allen was the lone Sky Carp with multiple hits, finishing 2-for-4 with a triple. Edgar Sanchez fell to 1-4 after struggling with his command. Sanchez allowed six walks and four runs (three earned) in four-plus innings of work.
Yeuris Jimenez pitched two scoreless innings out of the bullpen for the Sky Carp, who remain just one-half game out of first place despite their recent struggles.
The Sky Carp and River Bandits will battle in game four of their six-game series Friday at 6:30 p.m. The next time the Sky Carp will be in Beloit will be Tuesday, May 30, when they welcome in the Great Lakes Loons.
The Beloit Sky Carp are the High-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins and play their games at ABC Supply Stadium -- the heart of the Riverbend District.
