HARRISON, N.J. - The New York Red Bulls and Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) today announced a multi-year partnership extension, continuing HSS's designation as the "Official Hospital of the New York Red Bulls." With the extension, HSS will now serve as the "Official Hospital of Red Bulls Academy," the team's multi-layered youth system and a presenting partner to the Red Bulls Freestyle Crew.

Since 2007, HSS has provided the Red Bulls First Team access to the world's leading medical center for orthopedics and sports medicine. With the extension, HSS will now provide a new generation of soccer players at the Red Bulls Academy with the same high-quality care that all patients receive. HSS physicians will oversee player care throughout the season and offer education to prevent injury. Additionally, the HSS Sports Safety team is working with Red Bulls Youth programs to provide movement screenings to help evaluate form and educate on reducing the risk of injury.

"HSS has a long-standing history of caring for elite and professional athletes, and what we've learned from treating this population we apply to the development of young athletes," said Riley Williams, III, MD, sports medicine surgeon at HSS and medical director for the Red Bulls. "At the HSS Sports Medicine Institute, we know that even the most highly trained athletes can encounter injuries, but through this expanded collaboration, we will work with athletic coaches and trainers to effectively identify risk factors and prevent setbacks on and off the field."

With the extension, HSS will now be the presenting partner of the Freestyle Crew to continue to encourage movement and exercise through the sport of soccer. With this partnership, HSS will be featured on the uniforms of the Freestyle Crew and showcased within their content pieces that promote health and wellness.

HSS is nationally ranked #1 in orthopedics by U.S. News & World Report (2022-2023) for the 13th consecutive year and is a world leader in sports medicine performance and rehabilitation.

"Since 2010, our club has proudly partnered with Hospital for Special Surgery, who have provided the highest standard of medical attention to the players of our First Team," said Marc de Grandpré, General Manager, New York Red Bulls. "With the extension of the partnership now reaching our Academy squads, we are confident that all of our players will receive the best orthopedic care."
